Picks & Events
How do I make picks?
Once you have a verified account, head to the picks page and select your predictions before the deadline. You cannot change your picks after the deadline has passed.
When is the pick deadline?
Matchups lock at the start of their respective card segment. For example, main card picks lock when the main card begins. Be sure to submit your picks before the scheduled start time — late picks cannot be accepted.
When do picks open for events?
Picks open on Monday morning of fight week. Once picks are available, you may update your selections at any time until the applicable pick deadline.
We recommend reviewing your picks throughout the week, as fights may be canceled, new matchups may be added, and odds can change. These updates may affect favorites, underdogs, and potential payouts depending on the game mode.
What are Quick Picks?
Quick Picks can be accessed from the Events page when picks are open. They allow you to quickly make selections for all matchups and apply those picks to one or more game modes in a single step.
If you've already made picks in a game mode, Quick Picks will be disabled for that mode so your existing selections aren't overwritten. Moneyline parlays are an exception and can still be created regardless of whether Quick Picks have been used.
Matchups & Results
Why did my pick's payout change?
To keep the competition fair, betting odds are updated throughout the week as real-world odds change. If you've already made your picks, the payout values for those selections may change before fight day.
This ensures that all players are making picks using the same set of odds and prevents users from gaining an advantage by locking in outdated lines.
Odds are frozen on fight day and will not be updated again, even if real-world betting lines continue to move. We recommend reviewing your picks before the event begins and making any adjustments if needed.
When are results updated?
Results are usually updated within minutes of the official fight result being announced. Because Pickemma is maintained by a solo developer, occasional delays may occur, but every effort is made to keep scores and leaderboards updated as quickly as possible.
Game Modes & Scoring
How is scoring calculated?
Each game mode has its own scoring system:
- Straight Mode: Earn 1 point for each correct pick.
-
Classic Mode:
- Favorites: 2 points
- Underdogs / Pick'ems: 3 points
- Longshots (+350 or higher): 4 points
- Main Events & Title Fights: Favorites 3 points, Underdogs/Pick'ems 4 points, Longshots 5 points
- +1 point for the correct method of victory
- +1 point for the correct round
- Moneyline Mode: Point values are based on betting odds. Correct picks earn points based on the fighter's moneyline payout. Players may also create up to three parlays per event, with an unlimited number of legs per parlay. Choose wisely—a single incorrect pick will bust your parlay.
- Expert Mode: Earn 1 point each for correctly predicting the fighter, method, and round. The fighter must be correct to earn the method point, and both the fighter and method must be correct to earn the round point.
- Confidence Mode: Assign a confidence value to each pick based on how strongly you believe the fighter will win. If your pick is correct, you earn the assigned point value.
Features
What are Streaks?
Streaks challenge you to correctly pick as many fight winners in a row as possible. You can choose which matchups and fighters to include in your streak, and selections may be added or removed as long as that matchup remains open for picks.
Once a matchup locks, it can no longer be added to or removed from your streak. Draws, No Contests, and canceled matchups do not count for or against your streak.
If one of your streak selections loses, your current streak ends. Any remaining streak picks that are still pending will automatically begin a new streak, giving you another chance to build a winning run.
What is the Quiz?
The Quiz is a fun game mode that tests your knowledge of UFC numbered Pay-Per-View events. Do you remember who won at UFC 205 or who headlined UFC 100? You can play through all available events or choose a custom range to challenge your MMA memory.
What are Leagues and when will they be available?
Public and Private Leagues are currently in development and will allow you to compete against a smaller group of friends, coworkers, or other MMA fans using PickEMMA's game modes.
League customization is also planned, including options such as unlimited Moneyline parlays, point deductions for incorrect picks, custom scoring systems, and additional league-specific settings.
Leagues are one of our highest-priority features and will be released as soon as they are ready.
